Mark Wahlberg talks Father Stu
Yes, our guest this episode is Mark Wahlberg. Really.
And since his movie about a priest comes out this week, we’re putting out the podcast a few days early.
Our hard-working host Jen Mauro was able to sit down with him one-on-one for 12 minutes while he was in Philadelphia on a press tour for his new movie “Father Stu” (https://www.fatherstumovie.com/), which follows the life of Father Stuart Long, a boxer-turned-priest who inspired countless people during his journey from self-destruction to redemption. Jen chats with him about the movie, his perspective on why Fr. Stu is such a compelling figure, as well as his own connection to the Catholic faith.
Prior to the interview, Jen and Mike Walsh also chat a little about some upcoming events, including the Way of St. James Walk in Ventnor on April 30 (https://camdendiocese.org/event/the-way-of-st-james-intergenerational-pilgrimage-walk/), the upcoming ordination of five diocesan priests on May 14, and the New Jersey Catholic Youth Rally at Six Flags Great Adventure on May 15 (https://camdendiocese.org/event/nj-catholic-youth-rally-2022/).
