How To Be Present For Our Youth
- Meet them where they are, this could be church, but even more you will find them at sports events, plays and other activities that they are involved in at school.
- They need you, especially at difficult times of their lives, such as when losing a loved one. Be there for them. If possible attend the viewing and/or funeral Mass. at the least send a Mass card.
- Be authentic and be yourself. Youth can easily see when someone is “trying too hard”. Be natural. It will go a long way!
- The last thing the youth need is someone looking at their phone and not at them. Give them good eye to eye contact and keep your phone away when engaging in conversation with them.
